The book Pandemic and Renaissance of World Religions by Temur Ataev and Roman Nazarenko delves into the pivotal role of religion during and in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Drawing upon both historical and contemporary thinkers, the authors highlight the positive societal impacts of religion during this significant crisis. Religion and prayer serve as sources of reassurance, while churches and parishes perform a crucial communal function in uniting individuals. As international governments, corporations, and the media struggled to offer existential answers amid the pandemic, religion emerged as a beacon of solace. The authors, one from Ukraine and the other from Azerbaijan, represent Christian and Muslim intellectual traditions respectively. By emphasizing religion's role in fostering community and global unity, they showcase the prosocial attributes inherent in both major religious traditions.
