This paper examines the life and legacy of Ihor Kozlovskyi, a renowned Ukrainian scholar, historian, and religious studies expert. Kozlovskyi's academic achievements, including his PhD in History and extensive contributions to religious studies, are highlighted alongside his role in revitalizing religious life in Donetsk and promoting interfaith dialogue. A pivotal point in Kozlovskyi’s life is discussed: his 2016 arrest by separatists in Donetsk for his pro-Ukrainian stance, which led to nearly two years of captivity. The paper further explores his post-release efforts in Kyiv, which included advocacy for political prisoners and continued work in interfaith dialogue. The paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of Kozlovskyi’s contributions to Ukrainian society and scholarship, placing his enduring legacy in context.
